Prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common male cancer, with more than 8,000 men diagnosed each year in the Czech Republic. The disease most often affects men of older age, but it is not completely rare in younger men, for example, in their forties and fifties.
Despite intensive research by a number of teams around the world, there is still no clear cause of prostate cancer. While it has been shown that there is some association with dietary habits, especially an excess of fats, the exact mechanism by which dietary components act has not yet been described. For these reasons, prostate cancer cannot be effectively prevented at the moment.
